Blessing #26: I am Always Learning
Knowledge is not finite. There is simply too much to discover!
I do not claim to be the smartest person in the world, but I love knowledge so much (and equally despise ignorance) so that I made up my mind long ago that I never want to stop learning. Knowledge is not finite. There is simply too much to discover!
“Learning never exhausts the mind.” ― Leonardo da Vinci
I have such a nerd-crush on the brainy people, the problem solvers, the philosophers and deep thinkers of this world. I love the spirit of those who love to teach, those who seek to improve themselves and the world around them by lifting others up.
I crave conversations with people who know a great deal about subjects that stretch my mind and challenge me to think deeply, without trying to make me feel small or stupid.
“I’ve seen how you can’t learn anything when you’re trying to look like the smartest person in the room.” ― Barbara Kingsolver
Above all, I absolutely love to discover new things and gain a deeper understanding of the world. I think that my inner 3-year-old will always prompt me to ask “Why?” and I’m completely OK with that.
Here’s to learning the hard way. Here’s to honoring our multiple intelligences and to discovering which learning styles suit us best. Here’s to formal education, street smarts, and being self-taught.
“For me, I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You’d be surprised how far that gets you.” ― Neil deGrasse Tyson
