Blessing #13: I am Worthy & Deserving of Good Things
What are you worth? 1 million dollars? 10 million? A billion? 20 bucks?
Though you may earn a wage to make a living, the transaction of money in exchange for goods & services does not determine your intrinsic value because your inherent worth is not the same thing as your net worth. If you do nothing on this planet other than show up, you are enough. Everything else you contribute is a wonderful, glorious bonus. You are worthy simply because you exist. You carry an eternal, invaluable soul within the very fiber of your being. Your worth cannot be measured by any scale or currency.
What do you deserve?
I believe that we all deserve to have good things in our lives, but when we become blind to the goodness in and around us we forfeit so many blessings available to us.
You may have learned that if you do good, you deserve good things, and if you do bad, you deserve bad things. Yet you have also probably observed that life doesn’t always hand out good things and bad things according to our actions, or at least not in a timely, “instant karma” way. Sometimes it seems like bad guys keep getting all the good stuff, while bad things keep happening to good people. The truth is that the sun shines and the rain falls with no regard to who you are or what you’ve done. Growing up going to church, I was taught that in the end God would sort it all out and everyone would get what they deserve. And that may be how it all shakes out. But what if it isn’t, and what do we do in the meantime? I have no desire to become a bad person. I do desire to enjoy good things.
Whatever you may or may not believe in accordance with your faith or religion or philosophy, you matter and you deserve to have good things and good people in your life.
