The Second Blessing: Gratitude

Blessing #2: I am Grateful

Years upon years ago, as wise person challenged me to find just one thing that I was grateful for, each and every day, no matter what.

It was a brilliant challenge, because I am continually amazed at how many things in my life there are to be grateful for. Some things are big and obvious, while other things are more nuanced and delicate and require me to pause and look closely.  But there has never been a day that I can’t find at least 1 thing.

I’ve found that when I start to focus on gratitude, one thing becomes a few things, and then a few more. My gratitude suddenly seems to grow exponentially.  It’s a beautiful rush of energy as more and More and MORE things to be thankful for fill my mind and my heart!  It’s humbling and magically empowering, all at the same time.

I invite you to try this powerful exercise for yourself.  Starting today, right here and now, think of just one thing that you are grateful for.

Now take a deep breath, and say it with me: “I AM GRATEFUL. FOR THE GOOD THINGS IN MY LIFE, EVERY DAY, I AM SO VERY GRATEFUL. WHEN I PAUSE TO THINK OF EVERY GOOD THING THAT I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED, I AM OVERWHELMED WITH GRATITUDE. THIS ENERGY IS SO BEAUTIFUL, SO POSITIVE, SO STRONG THAT IT FLOWS INTO EVERYTHING I SAY AND DO. I AM GRATEFUL.”
