The Fourth Blessing: Goodness

Blessing #4: I Am a Good Person

I like to think of myself as a Good Person. Not without some flaws, not perfectly polished, not without loads of mistakes along the way; but at the core of my being and in the way I choose to live my life, I am one of the Good Ones.

One of the ways that I make this true is by being accountable to a few trusted souls- my own personal posse that I’ve cultivated over the years- and by staying honest & truthful with myself, and with them.

I’ve learned that being a Good Person is a lot easier to do when I surround myself closely with other Good People. The company I keep and the people who I am closest to are men and women who inspire me daily because they are so uplifting, positive, honest and kind, and they see and encourage the same from me. When one of us starts to go a little off the rails, it is easy to reach out and get back on track. We care about each other, and that care extends to those around us. Good begets Good.

Think about your personal posse. Who are you closest to? Are they people who uplift and encourage you? Do they inspire you through their own actions, rather than intimidate or criticize?  Seek out people who will build you up, not tear you down.  Because you are a Good Person and the world needs more Good People like you.  Say it with me:

“I AM A GOOD PERSON. I CHOOSE TO SHOW KINDNESS TO THE PEOPLE I COME IN CONTACT WITH EVERY DAY. I CARE ABOUT MY FAMILY, MY FRIENDS, MY NEIGHBORS, MY COLLEAGUES, AND PEOPLE I MAY NEVER EVEN MEET. I AM KIND TO ANIMALS, AND I TAKE CARE OF THE WORLD I LIVE IN. I DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OTHERS. I AM A GOOD PERSON.”
