Today I had the honor and pleasure of interviewing my cousin, Nicole Lewis-Keeber, for a new podcast that we are co-hosting (more on that later). One of my very favorite things about her is her willingness to go deep and be transparent on any topic, even ones that are messy or difficult to talk about. It takes incredible courage to show up and be honest with yourself in the difficult conversations. Self-awareness can be messy, but I’m learning that it’s in our willingness to go there that we can truly heal ourselves and create powerful new possibilities for our lives. …

This morning, a complete stranger made me cry in the Texaco parking lot. I had just finished getting my car quick-washed and was getting ready to merge into the exit lane, just waiting for a little more space to open up. My latte was just the right temperature. I had just cleared some space in the cup holder after giving $1.50 in quarters to a homeless man named Alfred. I was feeling pretty excited, as I was on my way to celebrate birthday lunch with my bestie. Just started to roll into the open space in front of me when…

Do you love your life? I do! If you aren’t totally in love with the life you’ve created for yourself, today is the day to begin resetting your intentions. It’s likely that you already have many things in your life to be grateful for and that you can build on; you probably don’t need a complete life renovation, just some tweaks and shifts to increase your happiness. Begin with this positive mantra, and allow yourself to be open to any specific changes that you need to make moving forward. “I Live a Life Worth Loving.”

You might not have all of the answers when facing life’s hard questions. You will not always know the perfect thing to say when someone you care about is grieving. You are going to find yourself in situations sometimes when you feel utterly powerless to make a difference, but trust me, dear one, there is always Love and it is always needed. You have the power in the depths of your heart to send Love… so don’t hold back! I invite you to take a meditative moment now to imagine yourself sending waves and waves of Love to the people…

Stay tuned for deeper thoughts on this, but for now just know that Sending Love is Always Worthwhile ❤

Ugh- getting sick is no fun! You may feel like whenever you get sick that you just have to soldier on and push through, but I offer another option: Rest & Send Love. Confession: I’m definitely still learning this one myself, because it is not always easy as a strong, proud woman to let someone help me. I don’t want to be a burden, you know? But the truth is that you can learn a lot about how to love yourself and others better by spending some time receiving it. So, today, I cancelled my appointments and crawled back into…

I was very honored to march today with 749,000 brothers and sisters in Los Angeles, California as part of the Women’s March- and it was magnificent! It was one of over 600 sister marches to the Women’s March on Washington, and the energy was incredibly Peaceful, exuberant, powerful, funny, and moving. Now, I understand that many people do not support the Women’s March, and that’s fine. I’m not going to shame anyone or call you disrespectful names. I honor your right to disagree or have a different opinion and I certainly don’t need to demean you. But I do want…

Today is an historic moment in the world. It is the day that America demonstrates the peaceful transition from one executive Administration to another as we willingly hand over control from President Barak Obama to President Donald Trump. I am not a Republican. I am not a Democrat. I am, first and foremost, a strong, white, mixed-race American woman of a certain age. I acknowledge my privileges as much as I acknowledge my obstacles. Whatever your political views, today marks an important and dare I say life-changing opportunity. Here’s how I see it: It is our opportunity as Americans to…

I’m excited and honored to take part in the Women’s March Los Angeles this Saturday, a sister march in solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington. The event in our nation’s capitol is expected to have nearly a quarter MILLION participants. There are sister marches scheduled to take place in hundreds upon hundreds of cities across the country, so you can also take part and use your voice to demonstrate Unity and Equality for ALL. I march for Women’s Empowerment worldwide. I march against Patriarchy and I march for Equality. I march for Peace. I march for Compassion,…

If you’ve known me for more than a minute or have been following me for a while, you know that I am a pretty open and positive person. Sure, I have my up days and down days because, well, sometimes shitty things happen. I don’t try to hide the times I’m struggling or ignore things about society that bum me out. I believe that honestly sharing the journey is an important part of my story. Some days, however, I feel a stronger sense of that anything is possible optimism and a surge of positivity that I can’t contain. It comes…
