Today’s Monday Mantra is a little different and has more of a teaching element to it than what I typically share. I hope it is helpful to you! This weekend I had a few encounters with Anger, and it was not too pretty. I think it is fair to say that I have always had a low tolerance for bullshit and a strong sense of justice, so whenever something or someone violates my perceived code of Right vs. Wrong, I feel intensely activated. This has not always served me well in the heat of the moment, but it sure has…

Yesterday I shared a Facebook Live video in which I called BS on the multi-billion dollar diet & beauty industries. I see it Year-round, but most prominently just before summer: SHAPE UP. LOSE WEIGHT. LOOK YOUNGER. It’s the bombardment of media messaging that you aren’t good enough and need to be fixed. And that, my friends, is bullshit. Diet doesn’t mean starving yourself, and exercise should always bless and support your body, not punish it. Food is meant for our enjoyment and pleasure as well as for our fuel. It’s not either/or, it’s both/and. It’s the reason why Nature has…

Ready for a powerful and positive mindset shift? This #MondayMantra is exactly that: “My obstacles are designed to Redirect and Empower me, not to hold me back.” The truth is that we will face a variety of obstacles on the way to our goals, but this doesn’t have to be a bad thing! Tests & trials are all part of the game, and their purpose is to sharpen and strengthen us along our path. It’s only a setback if you decide that it is, so take the power back and find the lesson your obstacle is trying to teach you…

Being a mindset coach can seem like a frivolous and fluffy profession; a joke, a sham, a hoax. Kind of like when I tell people that I’m a writer and they respond incredulously with, “You can make a living doing that?” After the stinging slap to my face has dissipated, I smile and say as sweetly as I can muster, “Yes, and I am grateful for the opportunity to use my gifts in this way.” But it isn’t easy. The lessons I am learning about myself and the battles I continue to face in struggling with my own inner critic,…

Bags packed, checked in, cleared security, and got a front row seat to watch our ride pull in to the gate. Traveling the world has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I drink up each and every experience. I love it! There is always another place to explore, a new horizon to expand. Today I’m setting off for a new adventure- Norway! Whaaaat?! Live the Life You Love! Explore & Expand, Embrace & Enrich… DO the things that excite you, that fulfill you, that scare you, that challenge you. Oh, and about that Big, Scary Dream that you are…

Stretch Yourself! Stretch the muscles in your body; Stretch the limits of your imagination; Yes Love, S t r e t c h Y o u r s e l f, and see how far you can grow. Reach a little farther if you can. Stretch the boundaries of all that you think is possible for you to achieve, and in so stretching you will elevate yourself out of your small space of comfort, where you can harness your furthest goals and ride your wildest dreams!

Life will get your attention by any means necessary. What signs are you reading and which ones are you ignoring?

We all experience the so-called “negative” emotions such as Sadness, Anger, and Fear throughout our lives as a result of experiencing unpleasant circumstances or even traumatic events. It’s OK to feel these, and it’s important to express them in healthy ways. It’s when we avoid feeling them and resist expressing them that we develop Emotional Constipation, and the shitty feelings begin to pile up and block our ability to fully enjoy life. Sadness untreated slips into Depression. Anger left untended turns into Rage. Fear left to fester turns into Phobia, and can further devolve into Hate. The path back to…

FUN FACT: I’ve worked my whole life on addressing my control-freak tendencies, but for as far as I’ve come in releasing my Kung Fu grip there is always another life lesson for me in the art of letting shit go. Even though I practice regular “clearing” it is amazing to me how much stuff I still manage to cling to… from trinkets and knick-knacks gathering dust to outdated beliefs that seek to hold me down. Today, I encourage you to take a step forward with me in releasing, in allowing, in letting go. What is one area of your life…

Loss, you are indeed one painful Teacher. Never once have you given me a life lesson that didn’t hurt in greater or lesser degrees and send shock waves to my very core, drawing cleansing tears from deep within my being. Not. Once. And this, I believe, is something that connects all life on some higher level, though we may fight like hell to avoid experiencing it. It’s not one of the Fun Feelings, but Loss does hold vital lessons for us whenever we are ready to see them- lessons that are only won the hard way. Lessons like strength, perseverance,…
